Cleanliness Drives

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaigns launched by the Government of India.

India is in dire need of a cleanliness drive like Swacch Bharat Abhiyan to eradicate dirtiness. It is important for the overall development of citizens in terms of health and well-being. As the majority of the population of India lives in rural areas, it is a big problem. Therefore, this Clean India mission can be of great help in enhancing the living conditions of the people. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to eliminate open defecation, eradicate manual scavenging, introduce modern solid waste management and promote a positive attitude towards healthy sanitation practices.

The Board of Student Development and NSS of International Institute of Information Technology, has organized a “swachata Abhiyan” on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. On 1st October students have cleaned their own study room those who are living in hostel. The local students have cleaned their home.

Ratnadurg Fort Clean-up Drive

A total of 44 students of Hope Foundation’s FAMT participated in Clean-up Drive at Ratnadurg Fort. The drive was aimed to remove all the non-biodegradable wastes like plastic covers, plastic straws, rubber, and thermocouple. Before disposal, the plastic waste was segregated and sent for recycling and the rest of the garbage was collected by the Ratnagiri Municipal Corporation to dumping yards.

Beach Clean-Up Drives

Mandavi Beach Cleaning Program was organized by Hope Foundation’s FAMT and the students actively took part in cleaning the beach with banners having slogans on reducing use of plastic, importance of plantation, greenhouse effect etc. The students cleaned the garbage like plastic bags, wrappers, plastic bottles etc from the beach. They showed lot of interest in social event and successfully conducted it with a request to organize such social events every year.

Beach Cleaning Campaign

On the occasion of celebration of 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Hope Foundation’s FAMT organized a Beach Cleaning Campaign at Mandavi on Monday, 24th September, 2018 in association with Ratnagiri Municipality. Around 130 student members of FAMT Student chapters were present for cleaning of the beach, day after Ganesh Visarjan.

Documentary on Waste Management

Hope Foundation’s Nature Club of FAMT organized a documentary program on ‘Waste Management’ to create awareness on the garbage classification and reuse among the children on 10th February, 2018 at seminar hall of Z. P. School Mirjole no: 1, Ratnagiri.
