Go Green Initiatives
The “Go-Green” initiatives at the educational and research campuses of Hope Foundation at Ratnagiri and Pune embrace a way of life that helps preserve the environment by reducing, reusing and recycling. These initiatives offer the opportunities to take the lead in redefining its environmental culture and developing new paradigms by creating sustainable solutions to environmental, social and economic needs of the civilization. Some of the key objectives of these go-green initiatives are to reduce pollution, reduce resources consumption and eliminate wastes, conserve natural resources and forests and maintain the natural ecological balance on earth so that all living things can survive and thrive in their natural habitat.

K-12 Activity: Quiz on Green Energy
FAMT Students Chapter conducted an Online Quiz on Green Energy to spread awareness about green energy on 2nd October 2021. The quiz was conducted to improve and test participants’ knowledge about green energy. The quiz consisted of 10 Multiple Choice Questions about different topics related to Green Energy.
A total of 131 students from various schools/ colleges attempted the quiz and received the certificates upon satisfying the passing criteria.

Plantation in Support of Van Mahotsav Programme
Hope foundation’s FAMT organized a Plantation Programme on September 29, 2021, on-campus extending support to the State Government of Maharashtra’s Van Mahotsav programme. Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Dr Yogesh Mulye, Prof Prashant Giri, Prof. M.J Gujar Prof. U. K. Samant, Mr Ameya Raykar, Prakash Gawade and Kiran Tambe actively participated in the programme. FAMT Nature Club successfully organized the event under the guidance of Principal Dr Kaushal Prasad.

World Environment Day
Hope foundation’s International Institute of Information Technology and NSS, Hinjawadi Pune has organized the Quiz program based on WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY to create awareness among the students and staff about ecology and environment. Online Quiz to Create Environmental Awareness
The Nature Club of Finolex Academy of Management and Technology conducted a College Level Online quiz to create environmental awareness.
The event was conducted for the students of FAMT from 25th to 30th May 2021. A total of 61 students of FAMT participated in the quiz. Online certificates were distributed to qualified participants.

World Environment Day
Hope Foundation’s FAMT Student Chapter celebrated the ‘World Environment Day’ on 5th June 2020. The program was conducted on Google Meet, an online platform, due to the current scenario caused by the pandemic. Dr. Milind. S. Kirkire (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department) expressed the views about sustainable development and conservation of energy sources in his inaugural speech.

Maharashtra Green Army
Hope Foundation’s I²IT has become a member of the State Government’s initiative to build the “Maharashtra Green Army”. Duty to protect and improve the Natural Environment including Forests, Lakes, Rivers and Wild Life, and to have compassion for living creatures and be an integral part of the State Government of Maharashtra’s efforts towards fulfilling the 50 crore plantation program intended to increase the forest cover in the state.
Team I²IT hosted a tree plantation drive on campus. Aligning themselves with the State Government’s agenda of “50-Crores Plantation Program”, I²IT students, faculty and staff came together to plant many Neem trees on campus on July 22, 2019.

The green initiatives of Hope Foundation’s FAMT like Solar Power Facility, Biogas plant, and Rain Water Harvesting Facility were on display for the visitors. The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) entered into the Guinness World Record Book, when the University distributed & planted 16,700 saplings at one go. The event was an attempt to break the Largest Distribution of Saplings.

The Exhibition included information on Medicinal plants, Ornamental plants, Information of Plastic eating warms, Information of Aqua phonic & Hydro phonic, Paper bags making with demonstration, Green initiatives by Hope Foundation’s FAMT – Solar power, Biogas plant, and Rain water harvesting, Information on Butterflies, Wild life photographs, E-waste management and Eco Enzyme.

Hope Foundation’s FAMT organized a Plantation Programme on 14 July, 2018 on campus extending support to the State Government of Maharashtra’s programme to plant 13 Crore plants from 1-31 July 2018 to tackle global warming. The government has established “Maharshatra Harit Sena” (Green Army) to achieve this goal. Nature Club student members actively participated in the programme.

Hope Foundation’s FAMT celebrated the World Water day at Ratnagiri. Nature Club displayed the posters next all water tanks and coolers across FAMT campus on ‘SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE’ to make students aware about water use and precaution on 22nd March, 2018 on the occasion World Water Day.

World Forest Day
Hope Foundation’s FAMT organized a Presentation on ‘Forest Conservation and Current Rate of Deforestation ‘ to show the reality of forest land and increased rate of deforestation on 21st March 2018 on the occasion of World Forest Day in canteen during lunch hour. The presentation highlighted the popular issues related to deforestation, harmful effects on human and animals, annual rate of deforestation, forest cover of India in 2015 and current situation.
