The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. The motto of NSS is “Not Me But You”.
The main objectives under the National Service Scheme (NSS) are to understand the community in which they work, understand themselves in relation to their community, identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving, develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility, utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems, develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities, gain skills in mobilizing community participation, acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.

Health Awareness Camp at I²IT
The Student Development Board and NSS have jointly organized a Health Awareness Camp in collaboration with Dr. Lal Pathology Lab Hinjewadi. The staff and students have participated in this awareness camp enthustically.41 staff and students participated in blood sugar testing with different blood tests with an offer prize. Some faculties have taken benefit of fasting and PP in the morning session. The maximum staff and students have participated and camp made successful.

FAMT Celebrated National Voters Day
FAMT Electoral Literacy Club in association with FAMT Cultural Committee and NSS Unit celebrated National Voters Day on 25th January 2022. The theme for this year was Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative. It envisages the Election Commission of India’s commitment to facilitate the active participation of voters during the elections and to make the complete process hassle-free and a memorable experience for all voters.

National Voters Day Essay Competition
The NSS Unit and Board of Student Development of International Institute of Information Technology, Pune has organized an essay competition on account of “National Voters Day”. In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, the Govt. of India has decided to celebrate January 25th every year as a ” National Voters Day”. This essay writing competition was open to all students.

World No Tobacco Day
No tobacco day program was celebrated on May 31, 2021. All the students participated with full zeal and the pledge ceremony was taken by students and staff members. The program was organized by SDO/ NSS through online mode. Also, faculties have explained the bad effect of tobacco on society. The theme of the program was “commit to quit”. The aim of this program was to spread awareness about tobacco and its bad effect on the health of the human body among students.

Awareness of COVID-19
NSS unit organized an online event ‘Awareness of COVID-19’ from 4-9 May 2021 2021 for the students of FAMT. The event was organized to provide a platform and encourage students to showcase their skills. Many students participated with great enthusiasm. Events such as Poem, Essay Writing, Short video Making, Article Writing, Selfie with Slogan, Quiz, Poster Making were organized as a part of this event.

Marathi Bhasha Din
The program was organized on the Microsoft team platform. Krisha Elle has performed the Marathi song “khel mandiyela walwanti bai “with the instrument. The FE Students Payal has presented one Marathi article about how to live life happily”. Prerna Narkhede has presented a poem about the Marathi language. Some students and faculty members presented heart-touching Marathi poems/articles and songs in Marathi.

Vigilance Awareness Week
Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 with the theme of Vigilant India, Prosperous India. The pledge was administered as a part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ observations based on the theme. NSS volunteers attended and took the Integrity Pledge in support of the fight against corruption.

National Level Tree Plantation
The NSS units of Hope Foundation’s International Institute of Information Technology, Hinjawadi Pune organized the tree plantation event during 1st July to 12th July 2020. Due to Covid19 pandemic this time tree plantation is organise at a suitable location near to participants like empty space near home, balcony, terrace, own farm etc. For this event participants are participating from different locations of country.

Social Outreach Programs at Jambawade Village
Students from Hope Foundation’s I²IT participated in a National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp at Jambawade Village in Maval Taluka. The focus of this camp was participating in various social outreach programs like substance de-addiction awareness, cleaning the village, girl education encouragement and building earthen dams for water conservation.
